The Bublr Bash Wine Pull was curated by Ray Fister is the creator/producer of the popular wine podcast Life Between the Vines (www.lifebetweenthevines.com). From the beginning, the goal has been to make wine less intimidating by interviewing winemakers from all over the world and telling their stories. The podcast was started in 2008 and has launched over 500 programs and 400 videos.
Ray was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, and currently resides in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was a journalism major in college and eventually made his way into the commercial recording business back in 1979. On the journalistic side, Ray has written for his college newspaper as well as an article for Recording Engineer Producer magazine, plus radio copy for various commercial advertisements and all copy for the LBTV podcasts.
His rather dubious claim to fame is that he engineered all the audio for the Jeffrey Dahmer trial in the early nineties for Court TV. He has engineered projects for the Disney Company, Calm.com, Ski Doo, NPR, and The Simpsons, just to name a few. He has recorded talent such as LeBron James, Catherine Hicks, Bob Uecker, Cardinal Timothy Dolan, Tony the Tiger, Penn Jillette, Bobby McFerrin, Michael Gross, Sean Astin, Peter Mondavi, Tim Mondavi, and more. Ray was also an audio instructor at the Art Institute of Wisconsin, teaching audio production and post-production for four-and-a-half years.
On the wine side of things, Ray is a contributor to Milwaukee’s NPR station, WUWM. He has been interviewed by Wine Industry Network, JCB Live, Milwaukee Business Journal, as well as the Road to Wine Expert podcast. Ray has attended Premiere Napa Valley and Auction Napa Valley many times as well as the Willamette Valley Pinot Noir Auction. He is also a regular at wine events in Chicago. Ray is the owner of 5th Floor Recording Company in Milwaukee, which celebrated its twenty-fifth
anniversary this year. He lives on a horse farm just south of the city of Milwaukee with his life partner, Kathryn.
